A mum has hit out at her husband's family for banning their five-year-old daughter from visiting because the girl told them she didn't like the nickname they had given her.
The couple's daughter is named Colette, but ever since she was born her mother-in-law has called her 'Letters' due to the ending of her name.
The mum says it's 'not the greatest nickname in the world' but she has always let it go. Recently her daughter asked: "Why does grandma call me letters?
My name is Colette." When her mum explained it was a nickname, her daughter said it was weird and that she didn't like it being used, so the mum advised her to politely ask to be called Colette instead.
