Government officials have held an emergency meeting amid concerns over the potential ‘dangerous risk’ of flooding across Scotland over the coming days The Met Office has issued two amber weather warnings across large parts of the country for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
Forecasters are expecting well more than a month’s worth of rain to lash down in just a few days, while lightning and thunder is also forecast.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has also issued 15 flood alerts across Scotland. A meeting of the Scottish Government’s Resilience Room was held earlier today to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to deal with the torrid conditions.Officials have expressed concerns over the “high risk” of disruption.
