Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins has made a huge decision after her family suffered a heart-breaking loss. The 49-year-old says her family’s beloved rescue dog Bailey died last year, aged 16.
And while the family knew it was coming, Charlotte didn’t expect it to feel like a “physical pain”. Charlotte, who is an ambassador for the Dogs Trust, says it has taken her a “long time” to even consider welcoming another animal into her home.
But now, with husband Mark Herbert and daughter Ella Rose, she is looking forward to adopting a new pooch. Speaking to Woman magazine, she said: “Last year we lost Bailey, our rescue dog.
She was 16 and a big part of our family. “We knew it was coming, and I’d said to my daughter, ‘Prepare yourself’, but when it happened, it hit me like a physical pain, which I had not expected.
