Presenter Susanna Reid paused Thursday's Good Morning Britain to issue breaking news about Hurricane Milton in Florida. Susanna aired a special news segment on the breakfast show to issue updates about the Hurricane, which is currently battering Florida in the USA.

As part of the briefing, she revealed a chilling instruction which those in the hurricane’s path have been given. The 53-year-old presenter explained to viewers of the show that winds of 120mph were currently battering the state thanks to the hurricane, as well as explaining that a, “life-threatening storm surge of up to 13 feet of water is also predicted.” Susannah revealed that while locals have been told to evacuate, those who won’t comply are being given a special instruction: “Residents who refuse to evacuate are being told to write their names on their arms,” she explained.

She then revealed the heartbreaking reason for the order. "These are pictures people are posting on social media and the chilling reason for this is this is so they can be identified if they don't survive the storm,” she revealed. This prompted stunned co-host Ed Balls to exclaim: "Goodness!" Susanna followed up the information with the worrying news that: "Warnings that deaths will be unavoidable for those who have refused to evacuate as the torrential rain batters their homes." Hurricane Milton has made landfall as a Category 3 storm, with the Met Office warning it will be "dangerous and destructive" While the locals tackle the storm, back in the UK thousands of UK holidaymakers had holiday flights to Florida cancelled.

Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and Tui are among the airlines to have cancelled flights from UK airports to Florida, a popular holiday destination for Brits.
