Ben Shephard was reunited with Kate Garraway on-screen for the first time in weeks and it wasn't long before he confessed things were already 'getting back to normal'.

Kate made an emotional return to work on Good Morning Britain following the death of her husband Derek Draper. Kate had already confirmed she'd be back at work during an interview with her co-stars Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on Monday (February 5), days after she laid her beloved husband to rest.

Derek's funeral took place last Friday (February 2), almost a month after Kate announced his tragic passing. The 56-year-old announced on January 5 that Derek had sadly passed away, almost four years after Covid "wreaked havoc" on his body, leaving him needing around-the-clock care when he eventually returned home after more than a year in hospital.

Derek then fell seriously ill before Christmas after suffering a cardiac arrest. He died on January 3 aged 56 with Kate explaining in her statement that "the damage inflicted by Covid in March 2020, led to further complications."
