Gogglebox viewers were left gobsmacked after fan-favourite Abbie confessed she'd never heard of Israel. Abbie, 20, and her best mate Georgia, both from Durham, were responding to the news that the country was going to be on the UK's "green list", meaning travellers wouldn't have to self-isolate upon their return. "Where's Israel?

I've never heard of Israel," Abbie mused, before asking her 21-year-old friend if she "knew where it is". "You've got to be taking the piss," Georgia replied, before admitting she didn't know either. "Israel?

It's something to do with Jesus." The comedy duo have been surmising from their sofa since 2018, popping up in season 12, and making viewers chuckle ever since.
