An enormous dust storm that enveloped the Caribbean is closing in on the eastern United States in a once in-50-year weather event.

CBS reports the dust plume is one of the most extreme in recent history, and is only hours away from making landfall in the eastern states.
Forecasters predict the dust layer will stay south of Florida, over Cuba then spread to Texas and much of the Southeast. Locals have been told to expect hazy skies and vivid sunrises and sunsets.
