Piers and Susanna had been unimpressed after producers said that there would be too many people in the studio if Richard entered the studio.
Dr Hilary had said that he would get up and leave, but bosses said that there wasn't enough time. Yet Piers was determined to wish their colleague happy birthday as Dr Hilary moved to exit the studio to allow Richard in. "Honestly, the fact that we can't bring him in and wish him happy birthday - Dr Hilary, you might have to leave for five minutes," Piers said.
