Layla, who found herself in the impossible situation of pulling her own teeth out due to severe pain, told hosts Adil Ray and Kate about the struggle to find an NHS dentist after making countless calls, with the closest one being two and a half hours away from her home.
Layla's ordeal, having pulled out seven teeth herself, touches on a wider issue – with 1 in 4 people reportedly turning to DIY dental care.
When Layla spoke about the impact on her life, she became emotional, explaining: "It affects every part of my life, I don't go out..." before tears overwhelmed her.
