He was grilled on the controversy surrounding his chat show stardom and how it all fell apart. However during the interview, things took an emotional turn as Jeremy spoke out about the moment he found out that Steve Dymond, who appeared on The Jeremy Kyle Show in 2019, had taken his own life.
At the time, Steve took a lie detector test on the set of The Jeremy Kyle Show after he was accused of cheating on his partner, Jane Callaghan.
Just seven days later, Steve was dead, having died by suicide. Speaking to Kate Garraway about the ordeal in the first interview since the tragedy, Jeremy said: "My thoughts were always first and foremost for Steve Dymond.To get to a point where you would do that, must be terrible and his family but it was so frustrating, Kate, because for five years I couldn't say anything for legal reasons. "I wasn't able to say anything and I thought about the people who lost their jobs overnight, lost their mortgages, lost their livelihoods.” He continued: “It was snowballing and it became massive.
