Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins was left red-faced as Ben Shephard shared a "mortifying" underwear blunder story about her live on air.

The co-hosts asked viewers of Friday's show, 19 January, to share their stories about things they had left behind in hotel rooms - leading Ben to cheekily share a story Charlotte had told him off air and had meant to keep private.

As she asked viewers to contact the show, Charlotte admitted: "I have this fear of leaving something behind and it’s gone forever." But Ben smiled as he said: "But you have left stuff in the past haven’t you, embarrassing things you left once so that would be the fear." Charlotte looked shocked as he told viewers: "Charlotte once got changed behind a curtain and left all of her gear, including all of her underwear, and someone had to go and get it and send it back to her." The presenter was left open-mouthed and blushing as she looked at her co-star in disbelief and said: "What?!" as he continued: "So once you’ve done that once, you have to sort of panic." Charlotte looked embarrassed and flustered as she said: "I’m regretting telling you that story earlier this morning that I wasn’t necessarily going to share with people.

If I had done, I might’ve toned it down a bit!" But Ben still wouldn't let her off the hook, as he added: "The stage manager then had to go and fold up all your gear." "I was so mortified," Charlotte admitted. "And also they had folded it in a little neat pile for me, including my pants sat right at the top, which was so embarrassing!" Earlier this week, two other Good Morning Britain co-stars were also embarrassed when Ed Balls accidentally kicked Susanna Reid in the head in a debate about putting feet up while travelling.
