Pop legend Chesney Hawkes has been labelled a "top bloke" for a big-hearted gesture that saw him give up two coveted tickets to West Ham's Europa League final for his seriously ill friend. The One and Only singer is famously a huge fan of West Ham, but when his team made it to the Europa Conference League final in Prague and he was offered a pair of free tickets for performing in the fan zone, Chesney gave them up without a second thought.
Chesney's old friend Vic Irvine has been diagnosed with incurable stage four lung cancer and as he is also a huge fan of the football team, the singer decided to give his free tickets to Vic and his son Archie to make memories together.
More than 20,000 West Ham fans travelled out to Prague where their team won 2-1 against Fiorentina on Wednesday night, but only 5,000 actually got tickets to the match so Vic was amongst just a small number of fans to make it into the ground, thanks to his famous pal.
Chesney and Vic appeared on Good Morning Britain on Thursday morning from Prague, where they spoke to fellow West Ham fan Ben Shephard who was still in the studio as his flight had been cancelled.
