The devastated parents of a girl, aged four, who tragically died after being pulled from a hotel swimming pool in Egypt were afraid that their waterpark hotel was an "accident waiting to happen".
Kelly and Thomas Maddison visited the Jaz Makadi Aquqviva in Egypt with their nine children for a family Christmas getaway in 2017.
The couple, from Bishop Auckland, County Durham, told Newcastle Coroner's Court on January 24 that from the beginning of the trip, booked through travel agent TUI, they "couldn't relax" over health and safety fears including slippy floors and a door from their room which would not lock leading to a pool.
And on December 21 their worst fears were realised, when their young daughter Indianna Maddison went into the water of the pool, as reported by Chronicle Live.
