Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.

A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.

He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.

He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes the club should always try to keep its tradition of developing academy graduates and promoting youth into the first-team.

Neville was part of the fabled Class of '92, which saw the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs come through the youth team and eventually end up as key first-team players.

Within the current side there are also a number of youngsters who initially came through the academy at United, such as Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams.
