Gary Neville has compared Newcastle United's failed attempt to sign Marc Guehi to four Manchester United transfer blunders. The Crystal Palace defender was a prime target for Eddie Howe over the summer, with the Magpies offering a club record fee of £65million, plus £5million in add-ons.

"You don't chase a player unless you've been told you think you can get him from someone," Neville said on The Overlap. "United were getting played for years on this with, with Jadon Sancho, Frenkie de Jong, with other players going back to Bale and [Cesc] Fabregas all those years ago and they looked stupid every single year.
