Raphael Varane and Casemiro supposedly yearned for Zinedine Zidane's leadership at Manchester United last season. The Frenchman has once again been linked with the job at Old Trafford after another disappointing start to a Premier League season under Erik ten Hag.
United's 0-0 away draw to Aston Villa saw the Red Devils stumble to their worst start to a league season since 1989, having picked up eight points from seven games, leaving them sat in 14th.
While a meeting between Sir Jim Ratcliffe and United's top executives in London ended last Tuesday with the Dutchman remaining in his post, the likes of Thomas Tuchel, Edin Terzic and Zidane have already been linked with his job.
If the latter was to be appointed, Casemiro would likely be a particularly happy man.
