TNT Sports anchor Reshmin Chowdhury is reportedly in the running to succeed Gary Lineker as the face of Match of the Day. Lineker, renowned for his role on the BBC's premier football highlights programme, will step down at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season following more than 25 years at the helm.
Despite this, Lineker will stay with the corporation until after the 2026 World Cup, having secured a new agreement to present live matches.
One early contender to fill Lineker's shoes was Mark Chapman, who serves as the current host of Match of the Day 2 and joined this season's BBC Champions League highlight shows.
However, it has been reported that Chapman declined an arrangement which would have seen him share hosting duties alongside Kelly Somers.
