Gary Lineker has suggested all is not well between Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne and manager Pep Guardiola. De Bruyne, 33, played only a cameo role off the bench for the fifth straight game as City succumbed 2-0 at Liverpool on Sunday.
The Belgian playmaker's contract is set to expire at season's end, though he appeared calm over the situation when he recently confirmed he had paused discussions over a renewal.
Guardiola has said he's similarly uncertain about De Bruyne's future amid rumours of a potential money-spinning transfer to Saudi Arabia in 2025.
And speculation of a rift was fuelled when De Bruyne - who has been pivotal in City's triumphs under Guardiola - was only brought on for 12 minutes during their defeat to Premier League frontrunners.
