The 22-year-old centre-back appears certain to leave Lille following an impressive season for the team in Ligue 1 in which he made 24 appearances in the division before it was cancelled due to coronavirus.
He also gained valuable experience in the Champions League, and could prove to be a shrewd acquisition for Mikel Arteta. Lille are believed to value him at around €30m (£27m), and the likes of Manchester United and Everton have also been linked.
