A furious mob set fire to police cars and demanded to lynch an alleged paedophile accused of raping a five-year-old girl. Hundreds stormed the home of the 62-year-old suspect after the young girl was found bound up after being abducted.

Furious vigilantes also stormed into a police station in Kazakhstan city Satpayev where he was held. Locals had launched a hunt for the kidnapper after a father reported his daughter missing.

Police used loudspeakers to call the child’s name and then she was heard crying behind the door of a 62-year-old man who was later detained.

Officers broke down the door and found her naked and bound with adhesive tape, say reports. Earlier they had checked the same flat but had not found her because she was 'hidden in
