After meeting at university, Ross Brennan and Aarron Gledhill hatched a plan to make millions. They set about creating an illegal business empire selling highly dangerous drugs on the 'dark web'.
Armed with a downloaded copy of Chemistry for Dummies, the pair mixed and sold drugs, including the deadly painkiller fentanyl - said to be 100 times more potent than heroin.
But their money-making scheme, which went undetected for three years, came crashing down when police uncovered their factory.
Inside cops found evidence synthetic and other more traditional drugs were being produced, as well as computer equipment which revealed a sophisticated drug dealing enterprise operating beneath the radar on the dark web.
