FREDDIE Flintoff's son has revealed the Top Gear host is "lucky to be alive" after he was involved in a terrifying crash while filming an episode.

Corey Flintoff, 16, said his family have been left "shocked" after the ex-England cricket star, 45, was rushed to hospital following the accident.

The shocking smash happened during filming of the hit BBC One series at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome. The father-of-four was then airlifted to hospital following the terrifying crash on Monday.

Freddie was confirmed to be injured whilst filming a segment for the show, with the cameras rolling at the time. And his son Corey said his mother had raced to her husband's side.
