Frank Ocean has found its star in Industry actor David Jonsson.The film, which is currently untitled, has begun shooting in Mexico City, according to a report from Variety.
The plot is currently under wraps.Jonsson is best known for his role in TV drama Industry, which aired from 2020-2022 and followed a group of young graduates competing for permanent positions at an investment bank in London.
He played Augustus “Gus” Sackey, an openly gay Oxford graduate, for the show’s first two seasons.Movie fans will recognise him from last summer’s Alien: Romulus, playing Andy, an android and brother to lead character Rain, played by Cailee Spaeny.
The film was described in NME’s five-star review as being “as thrilling and scary as the original”.His success has seen him nominated for the prestigious Rising Star Award at this year’s BAFTAs, previously won by stars such as John Boyega, Tom Holland, and Lashana Lynch.He also appeared in the British independent hit Rye Lane, which was nominated for Outstanding British Film at the 2024 BAFTAs.
