Kate Winslet going to be directing for the first time – and it’s a family affair! The Titanic actress will make her directorial debut with Goodbye June, a contemporary family drama produced for Netflix, via Variety.
She will also star in it alongside Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall and Helen Mirren. Keep reading to find out more… The story was written by Joe Anders, Kate‘s 21-year-old son she shares with ex Sam Mendes.
The movie is set in present-day England and revolves around a “fractured group of siblings pull together under sudden and trying circumstances,” according to the report.
The movie will go into production on location in the United Kingdom later in 2025. This is her first time officially directing a film, although she was heavily involved in the making of her movie Lee. Joe previously starred in Lee with his mother.
