Frank Lampard is well aware he will be under increased scrutiny this season after Chelsea's extensive summer spending. The Blues have forked out over £200million to recruit stars from across Europe including Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and - for £72million earlier this week - Kai Havertz.
They have also strengthened with the acquisitions of defenders Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr on free transfers - with the former likely to have been handed a lucrative contract.
Prior to the transfer window, Lampard enjoyed a successful first campaign in the Stamford Bridge hot seat in which he guided Chelsea to a top-four finish and the FA Cup final.
