Four men from Greater Manchester amid bank scam investigation

Four men from Greater Manchester have been arrested in connection with a regional wide investigation into a banking scam. The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit said in a statement that four men from Manchester had been arrested as part of an investigation into courier fraud by detectives. "Detectives have conducted an investigation into a scam where fraudsters are duping victims into handing over their debit cards or moving their money into a ‘safe’ account," the statement added. "A 23-year-old man from Chadderton and three men aged 39, 29, and 21 from Rochdale, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud following warrants carried out this morning (Friday 2 August) with officers from Greater Manchester Police."Searches are ongoing at the properties across Greater Manchester but so far officers have seized approximately £31,000 cash, small quantity of cannabis and a number of electronic devices.
