Former provost Colin O'Brien returns to politics to stand for Labour in local elections

Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Former Stirling Provost Colin O’Brien is making a return to politics.Scottish Labour members in West Stirlingshire have selected Drymen resident Colin to contest the Forth and Endrick Ward on Thursday, May 6 following the death of Councillor Graham Lambie in February.Colin served as a Stirling councillor from 1999-2012 in Forth and Endrick and was provost from 2003-2007.He has lived in Drymen for 36 years and has always played an active role in his local community and across the wider district.He is a former depute convener of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park; former vice chair of Mugdock Country Park; former chairman of the Stirling Smith.
