His friend asked him to come to her room as she was going to order some food, shortly before she fell asleep. She then woke up to ‘feeling of stubble on her neck’, her playsuit being lifted up and Wood touching her breast and ‘spooning her’, Manchester Crown Court heard. She challenged Wood, of Ellesmere Port, the next day asking: “What were you doing? I need you to tell me or I’ll get the police involved.” Wood replied: “I woke up, for some sick reason I put my hands on you, I took a photo of you and deleted it - please don’t get the police involved.” The now 21-year-old pleaded guilty to an offence of sexual assault on a female and was handed a community order.
Prosecutor Christopher Field said the group of friends were staying at a shared student house before they went to a club in the city centre on September 3 2022.
