Residents were left scratching their heads after the mysterious lights were seen at around 10pm on Friday night (August 2) with videos sent to the The Manchester Evening News of the strange sight.
There have been reports of puzzling light displays in Cheadle Hulme and Bramhall, as well as in neighbouring Handforth. Clips show what looks like two glowing orbs circling the cloudy sky.

These things were following a pattern in the night sky. Two lights following each other." Another person who sent multiple clips said: "Video of weird light moving around sky in Handforth seen from my back door." A third said: "There's a really strange light in the sky and I'm curious to know if anyone has sent this in [to the M.E.N.].
