First picture of Scots barmaid killed in horror crash as tributes paid to 'life and soul of the party'

A Scots barmaid who was killed in a horror crash in Ayrshire has been named locally. Alana Muir, 27, died following the smash on the A71 between Newmilns and Darvel shortly after 11am on Thursday, October 17.

Officers from Police Scotland were alerted to a crash between a red Ford Focus Zetec and a silver Mercedes Vito. Ambulance crews attended but Alana, who was the driver of the Ford, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Alana has been hailed as a much-loved barmaid by her loved ones who have been left absolutely devastated by the news. Staff at Darvel Bowling Club, where Alana worked, said: "Our committee and members are devastated at the loss of our barmaid and friend Alana Muir.

Alana was always eager to help and with her huge personality made such an impact within our club to both members and visitors.
