It has been confirmed that the Royal Bank of Scotland branch in Rutherglen will close its doors for the final time this month, with the decision being labelled “a disgrace” by the town’s MSP.Clare Haughey MSP has expressed her anger and frustration at the news that it has been confirmed that the RBS branch on Main Street is to close, following a stay of execution.Originally, the branch was due to close in September, but two weeks beforehand it was announced that the closure was to be delayed so that a review could take place, in the light of new legislation aimed to protect access to cash in communities.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

However, this has not been the case, and it was confirmed at the end of September that the closure would go ahead.
