The mother of a 12-year-old boy who died after being struck by a car on the M62 has paid tribute to him saying he was a 'beautiful, happy soul.' It comes as a man has been charged in connection with his death.
A man from Greater Manchester arrested following the incident has been released on bail. Callum Rycroft, from Leeds, was struck by a Toyota C-HR on the eastbound carriageway of the M62, between junctions 25 and 26 in West Yorkshire, at around 9.50pm on Saturday night (August 5).
Matthew Rycroft, 36, of Nowell View, Leeds has been charged with causing/allowing the death of a child and failing to provide a specimen.
He is due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
