Here are your Tuesday evening Manchester City headlines. Guardiola absence Pep Guardiola will miss at least two Manchester City matches after undergoing emergency surgery on a longstanding back problem.
The Catalan flew out to Barcelona for a successful operation after suffering from severe back pain recently, and will spend a few weeks recovering there before returning after the international break.
That means that for the Sheffield United and Fulham matches at least, assistant Juanma Lillo will take control of the team. Lillo only returned to the club recently along with his assistant, having left in 2022 for a head coach role in Qatar.
The popular assistant will take charge for the next few weeks, along with fellow coach Carlos Vicens and goalkeeping coach Xabi Mancisidor. ALSO READ: Jeremy Doku expected to hand City immediate boost after transfer City have had a strong start to their campaign.
