Bolton’s first ever net zero homes are being built as part of a new development in Farnworth town centre. Capital & Centric’s Farnworth Green, which includes 85 one and two bedroom apartments as well as 12 family homes is set to be completed by the end of the year.
The developer says the area will be ‘a re-boot of the outdated precinct into a town centre neighbourhood’ and will feature the company’s first ever operationally net zero homes.
Several of the townhouses currently under construction on site are being built to be emission free, which Capital & Centric say will cut energy bills for residents and supporting. The timber frames of the net zero rental homes can be seen taking shape on site. When complete they will be insulated to make them energy efficient, with reduced air leakage and triple glazed windows.
