Fire crews and police block road after blaze

Fire crews and police raced to the scene of a fire in Bury on Sunday night (November 10). The blaze, understood to be in a building that houses an estate agents, erupted at around 8.25pm.

Pictures from the scene showed a number of police vehicles and fire engines at the scene. The fire broke out at an 'office block', with emergency crews lining the road.

Fire crews remained in attendance on Sunday night. It was not confirmed whether anybody was inside the building at the time of the incident, and the cause has not yet been confirmed. READ MORE Dad killed on way home from Liverpool match A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 8.25pm this evening (Sunday 10 November), three fire engines from Bury, Whitefield and Bolton North fire stations attended a fire in an office block on High Street, Walshaw. “Crews using breathing apparatus arrived quickly to make the area safe.

Firefighters are using two hose reels and remain at the scene." Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a statement on the incident.
