Fifth man charged with attempted murder after man stabbed in Bolton

A fifth man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an alleged stabbing in Bolton. Police were called out to Lincoln Road at 8.40pm on December 11 last year following reports that a 41-year-old man had been stabbed.

Yesterday (January 25), Greater Manchester Police charged a fifth person in connection with the incident. The 26-year-old joins four other people who have all previously been charged in connection with the incident. Roy Meanly, 28, of Rowena Street, Farnworth; Nathan Carney-Williamson, 29, of Battenberg Road, Bolton; Jason Wilding, 27, of Withington Road, Whalley Range; and Adam Disa Green, 21, of no fixed abode, were all also charged with attempted murder.

Police are still appealing for anyone with information or footage from the incident to come forward. In a statement issued today (January 26), a GMP spokesperson said: "Brendan Carney of Cloister Street, Bolton, was charged with attempted murder yesterday (25 January) and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today. "Officers were called at around 8.40pm on Saturday, December 11 2021, to a report that a 41-year-old man had been stabbed on Lincoln Road, Bolton.
