A popular care home in Stockport which started life as an old council depot celebrates its 10th birthday this autumn. Located in the heart of Hazel Grove village, next to Torkington Park, the original council buildings were extensively redeveloped into a modern care facility with a striking glass frontage.
Fernlea opened its doors on October 6, 2014, with a focus on resident well-being and experience. Over the years, it has undergone significant improvements and now features large landscaped gardens, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy bathing suites, a fitness centre, a cinema, a salon, and a bar.
Additionally, a children's nursery on the grounds, Fernbees, encourages interaction between generations, offering opportunities for children to engage, challenge themselves, and express their individuality.
The nursery had its first Ofsted inspection this year and received a 'Good' rating. So it's really no surprise that Fernlea is the flagship service of Olea Care Group, a family-run organisation with three generations operating three care homes across Manchester.
