Ferguslie Cricket Club welcome prolific batsman Elliot Moses back to Meikleriggs

Ferguslie Cricket Club have boosted their squad ahead of the new season with prolific batsman Elliot Moses returning to the club.Moses first turned out for the Paisley team in 2018, featuring heavily as their overseas amateur in their Championship-winning season.The talented left hander is currently playing for Greenpoint Cricket Club in the Western Province Premier League in South Africa.But he has always hoped to return to Ferguslie one day, and now has signed up for the 2022 season which kicks off in April.Moses told Express Sport: “I am over the moon to be returning to Meikleriggs.“It’s a place I hold close to my heart, as well as the people of Ferguslie.“I’m excited to see what the 2022 season has in store for us as a club.“There’s no doubt in my mind that we can replicate the success of previous seasons.”The 25-year-old is set to join his teammates ahead of the new season, subject to a successful visa application.Ferguslie Cricket Club convener Tim Preston-Jones believes his signing is a coup for the Paisley side and feels Moses can take them on to the next level this season, especially playing alongside current captain Riyaad Henry.He said: “Elliot is prolific left hand batsman and was a significant factor in our Championship-winning team of 2018.“He has remained in regular dialogue with the club whilst completing his university education, always hoping to return to Ferguslie.“This is a great signing for the club and after a couple of years with Covid-19 preventing overseas travel, we are hoping that circumstances will prevail in 2022 to allow the move to finally happen.“I met up with Elliot at Newlands in Cape Town for the New Year test against England in January 2020, and even got to enjoy a superb Braai back at
