Fallon Sherrock narrowly missed the opportunity to go head-to-head with Luke Littler in the second round of the PDC World Championship, as Ryan Meikle from Ipswich secured his match against the 17-year-old prodigy.
Meikle emerged victorious over the trailblazing Sherrock with a 3-2 win on Tuesday in an electrifying encounter that went the full distance.
Sherrock, now aged 30, made history in 2019 as the first woman to ever win a game at the World Championship, advancing to the third round.
However, she faced disappointment, this time, despite winning the first and fourth sets. Commentating for Sky Sports, three-time world champion John Part called the final set a "battle of wills" with 'the Barber' Meikle ultimately prevailing.
