A former Primark employee has lifted the lid on what one of the store tannoy announcements actually means. And the reason behind it is pretty disgusting.

Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, ex-staff member George Allen revealed a number of behind-the-scenes secrets he learned while working at the fashion chain.

Including the meaning behind one of the mysterious code-word announcements. According to Mr Allen, if you happen to hear “cleaner to menswear, code two” announced, it means that staff have found some sort of bodily fluid.

And in another grim confession, he explained that finding urine and faeces on the shop floor is "pretty common” – but it's always cleared up quickly.
