MUSIC lovers have declared that LadBaby is the new X Factor – making the Christmas number one boring. In the past the winner of the ITV singing competition would always secure the festive top spot and now – for five years running at least – the social media star Mark Hoyle and his wife Roxanne have taken the top spot.

Tonight, LadBaby made chart history by securing the Christmas number one for a fifth consecutive year, with the single Food Aid - surpassing a record set by The Beatles in the 1960s.

The track reworks the Band Aid song Do They Know It's Christmas? with lyrics about the cost-of-living crisis and vocals from MoneySavingExpert founder Martin Lewis.

Following the news, people rushed to Twitter to complain about it – insisting it’s boring, despite the fact they are raising money for charity.
