Operations are back to normal at Manchester Airport following the disruption caused on Friday by the global IT outage. Thousands of flights around the world were cancelled and delayed due to the Crowdstrike glitch on July 19 which saw airports resorting to manual check-in and boarding.

It coincided with the busiest travel period of the year so far as many schools broke up for the school holidays, with families jetting away for the summer break.

As a result of the delays and cancellations some travellers ended up stranded in their holiday destinations. Airlines have also had to deal with the knock-on effects of the disruption, with some aircraft not in the right place for certain routes.

Although for the most part flights are back to normal, there are still delays and cancellations. READ MORE: Family stuck in holiday hell as flight home to Manchester cancelled THREE times It’s important to keep updated on the status of your flight in case there are any last minute changes.
