Air travel is recovering after facing major disruption following a global IT outage on Friday which saw airlines affected across the world, causing delays and some cancellations.
Long queues formed at Manchester Airport after check-in and boarding had to be conducted manually. The outage coincided with one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, witht thousands of families jetting off on holiday with many schools breaking up for the summer on Friday.
The airport announced yesterday that “all airlines’ operations are running as usual”. As the outage shows it’s important to keep your eye on the status of your flight as last-minute delays and cancellations can occur.
