Erik ten Hag is convinced Mason Mount will start to 'contribute' to Manchester United after a horrendous first season. The 25-year-old joined last year from Chelsea in a £60million deal, having entered the final year of his contract.

But Mount has started once in the Premier League in the past 10 months due to a number of injury problems. Mount only made 20 appearances last term, scoring once, and he has been absent from the England squad since the 2022 World Cup.

The playmaker started in four of United's five pre-season friendlies and performed encouragingly but is set to compete with captain Bruno Fernandes for the playmaker role in Ten Hag's team. "Last season, he had a very bad season, a very tough season for him because of all his injuries and now we are very pleased he had a very good pre-season. "And I’m sure he will now from this point on contribute to the team if he stays fit, but it counts for every player." Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

With Ultra HD included at no extra cost, football fans can enjoy the 2024/25 season with crystal clear picture quality. £43 Ten Hag was coy on United's transfer activity as they approach the final three weeks of the summer window.
