‘Equalizer’ Potential Spinoff Casts Titus Welliver, Juani Feliz in Lead Roles
variety.comJoe Otterson TV Reporter Titus Welliver and Juani Feliz have been cast in guest star roles in an upcoming episode of “The Equalizer,” which could set up a potential spinoff based on their characters.
It was first reported in November that CBS was eyeing a spinoff of the Queen Latifah-led reboot of the 1980s action crime drama of the same name.
Now, Welliver and Feliz will appear in episode 16 of the show’s ongoing fifth season with series regular options should the spinoff move forward.
Welliver will play Hudson Reed, described as “a former top CIA operative with a dark secret who is connected to Robin McCall (Queen Latifah) by an old mentor.” Feliz will play Samanta Reed, who is said to be “trained by her father to be a weapons expert, skilled martial artist and true chameleon all while hiding a mysterious past.” Welliver is coming off of a decade-long stint playing the character Det.
