Emotional pictures have shown the moment Kate Garraway was watched by her husband Derek Draper as she was awarded her MBE. It was revealed at the end of 2021 that the Good Morning Britain presenter would be receiving the honour in recognition for her services to broadcasting, journalism, and charity.

She was named in the late Queen's New Year's Honours list with the now-55-year-old's award coming after she's spent the last three years documenting Derek's battle after contracting coronavirus devastated his body.

TV and radio star Kate admitted at the time that she felt "very awkward" about her recognition after several decades in the industry.
