While viewers wait to see the fate of the characters, and see what else Emmerdale writers have in store for the 50th anniversary special, we take a look at what life for Katherine Dow Blyton, who plays Harriet, is like off screen.
Katherine, 57, was somewhat born into acting as her mum starred in a Shakespeare play while pregnant with her and she later joked: “I like to think the grease paint soaked through”.Though, her first acting role was on screen not stage when she played a doctor in dark crime series Cracker.
In 1996, the actress bagged her first film role in Brassed Off, which starred the likes of Ewan McGregor and Tara Fitzgerald.
