Long-time Emmerdale viewers will recall a rather dramatic storyline from nearly a decade ago, which saw Bella Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) accidentally kill her former best friend Gemma Andrews (Tendai Rinomhota). The storyline has made something of a return in earlier this year, with Belle confessing the truth of her past to her boyfriend Tom King (James Chase).
Gemma died after a fight with Belle, in which Belle pushed her over, causing Gemma to hit her head on a rock. And after being left alone after the altercation, Gemma collapsed on her way home.
She was found the next day and rushed to hospital, where her father Dom (Wil Johnson) was told that she would never recover and decided to turn off her life support.
Belle was then sentenced to three years in a detention centre for the murder, although this was later shortened. And while things certainly took a downward turn for Gemma, the same is certainly not true for actress Tendai Rinomhotas, who has since trained in Musical Theatre and received a BA Hons degree from the Arts Educational School, London.
