Emmerdale viewers were reaching for the tissues after Thursday's heart-wrenching episode saw Amy Wyatt's life tragically end following the catastrophic limo accident.

Having plunged through the frozen lake, a hypothermia-stricken Amy, played by Natalie Ann Jamieson, was whisked off to hospital.

In her last moments, she miraculously woke up and mustered the strength to tell her husband Matty Barton about the eerie sight she witnessed in the lake's depths.

As she tried to convey, "Nate, under the water," a bewildered Matty replied, "I know you were darling, but you're safe now." Despite the medical team's frantic efforts, they couldn't save her, and Amy passed away with the chilling secret of the body under the ice.
