Emmerdale fans are still reeling from Natalie Ann Jamieson's poignant exit as Amy Wyatt, but the 37 year old actress is beaming with excitement about her future.

After six years in the soap, she's eager to explore new horizons. "The world 's my oyster now, which is a nice situation to be in," she enthuses. "I think six years is the perfect amount of time to be in that lovely Emmerdale bubble.

Now, to be back in the big wide world and to do anything, I'm really excited." Amy's dramatic departure saw her trapped under the ice after a limousine crashed into a frozen lake, leaving her husband Matty (Ash Palmisciano) to bid a heartbreaking farewell - just as they were planning to adopt a child.

While Natalie isn't ready to start a family with her partner of 15 years, Ali Ward, just yet, she's open to exploring alternative routes to parenthood, just like Amy and Matty. "We don't feel like putting pressure on ourselves that you have to go down a natural route," she explains. "People get very worried about body clocks, but we know that all of those routes are available – just like they were for Amy and Matty." With a newfound sense of freedom, Natalie is embracing the possibilities that lie ahead, both personally and professionally.
